Problem with balance transfer. I am writing to formally file a complaint against Digital Federal Credit Union ( DCU ) regarding their handling of a balance transfer that has resulted in unexpected cash advance charges. In 2018, I was advised by DCU to open a new credit card account to transfer the balance from a joint credit card with my ex-wife, who was using it without my consent. I followed this guidance, believing it was a straightforward balance transfer. Recently, I learned that this transfer was classified as a cash advance, leading to daily interest charges. I was not informed of this classification at the time, and the response I received from DCUs Member Service was unsatisfactory, failing to address the lack of transparency regarding their policies.
