Reporting company used your report improperly. XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX account Number : XXXX Has reported that my account has been charged-off while continuing to report a balance. According to the IRS Code ( Internal Revenue Code - IRC, 6050P ), when a debt is canceled and claimed as a loss, a 1099-C form should be issued to declare that cancellation as taxable income. I have not received such a form. and still continue to report an outstanding balance to the credit bureaus, which constitutes a violation of the FCRA. And also, I believe that the information currently reported is inaccurate and potentially incomplete, violating the requirements established under the FCRA, 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ), which mandates that all entries in credit reports must be complete, accurate, and verifiable.
