Problem using a debit or ATM card. I recently opened an AMEX Rewards Checking account with a Debit Card. I am currently using this AMEX Debit Card as an AUTO Pay for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX payment each month. AMEX doesn't run their Debit Cards as a TRUE debit transaction. XXXX XXXX XXXX Discounts for Auto Credit Card Payments is only {$5.00} per line but an Auto Debit Card or Checking Account Debit is {$10.00} per line. I was having trouble with my XXXX XXXX XXXX Phone bill and was on the phone with Customer Service and escalated to the management team for over an hour. The XXXX XXXX XXXX team both told me after research, that is how AMEX runs their DEBIT Card Transactions. I contacted AMEX customer service and they were no help either.
