Checking or savings account — DISCOVER BANK (VA)

Fees charged for closing account. Closed a Discover bank account in XXXX, found out in XXXX that the account had a balance of {$5.00}, called then and they said I could only send a check. Promptly sent a check and said check was cashed a few days later. Discover told me over the phone that the account was paid but refused to give a letter or email stating that. They will not contact chexsystem, they also will not tell chexsystem that it is paid when they call therefore chexsystem will not remove the negative remark.
