Debt collection — Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC (IL)

Debt was result of identity theft. This complaint concerns a collection account reported by a debt buyer ( Account XXXX XXXX ), showing a balance of {$500.00}. I have no record of entering into a financial agreement with this entity and, under the FCRA, 15 U.S.C. 1681i, I submitted a dispute and requested verification. No contract, signed agreement, or itemized statement has been provided in response within the required XXXX period. Reporting unverifiable debt violates the FCRA and also may constitute continued collection efforts without validation under the FDCPA ( 15 U.S.C. 1692g ). I am requesting that this unverified account be removed immediately from my credit files.
