Debt is not yours. I received a letter dated XX/XX/year>, from Collection Bureau Hudson Valley ( CBHV ) regarding an alleged debt for {$280.00} from a company called XXXX. I do not recognize this debt. As of now, CBHV has failed to provide the required documentation to validate the debt under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( 15 USC 1692g ). Specifically, they have not provided : A signed agreement or contract bearing my signature, A detailed breakdown of the amount allegedly owed, Proof they are authorized to collect on this account, and The chain of assignment if the debt was sold or transferred. I am requesting the CFPBs assistance in ensuring this debt is either fully validated with appropriate documentation or removed entirely from my credit report and all collection
