Debt collection — EQUIFAX, INC. (TX)

Attempted to collect wrong amount. I am filing a formal complaint against Equifax and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for continued reporting of a collection account ( original creditor : XXXX XXXX that has been illegally re-aged. The Date of First Delinquency is XX/XX/XXXX, but the Balance Date and Status Date were updated to XX/XX/XXXX, misleadingly portraying the account as recent. This violates : FCRA 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( a ) : No proper reinvestigation was conducted. Metro 2 guidelines : Reporting dates have been altered without actual activity. Despite prior disputes, no documentation has been provided to verify these changes. I request that the CFPB investigate this matter and compel Equifax and XXXX XXXX XXXX to remove or correct the account immediately.
