Prepaid card — AMERICAN EXPRESS COMPANY (CA)

Trouble using the card to spend money in a store or online. XX/XX/year> and multiple other dates attempted, with the most recent being today. I have been trying to use an AMEX prepaid gift card and it declines EVERYWHERE I try. I have verified the balance and it shows XXXX available. I have attempted to use it for smaller amounts as well but no matter the amount, it declines. A quick search online shows that many people have reported having this problem starting this past year
