Account status incorrect. Experian is reporting old accounts on my credit report that are past the statute of limitations in South Carolina. The law in South Carolina gives creditors only XXXX XXXX to take legal action on most consumer debts. These accounts are well past that period and should no longer be reported. I disputed these accounts with Experian, but they refused to remove them. By keeping these outdated accounts, Experian is reporting inaccurate and misleading information, which violates the Fair Credit Reporting Acts requirement to ensure maximum possible accuracy. This is hurting my credit score and limiting my ability to get fair credit.
