Debt collection — Penn Credit Corporation (CA)

Attempted to collect wrong amount. In a notice dated XXXX/XXXX/16 the collection agency falsely asserts that I have an outstanding delinquency. Moreover, the notice makes the patently false statement that " Previous notices ... have gone unpaid and remain delinquent ... '' The accurate information is that I prepared a comprehensive written contest to the fine and I received a written response in reply stating that it was referred to the hearing officer and that there was nothing further for me to do at [ that ] time. There was no subsequent correspondence or contact from anyone until receiving this XXXX/XXXX/16 collection notice. I am not even the registered owner. This is a fraud on the part of the collection agency.
