Received bad information about my loan. My private student loan defaulted ( XXXX months no pay ). These XXXX months were not under a deferment, grace period, or forbearance. However, Sallie Mae will not report that the account went into default so it remains on my credit report. It has been over 7 years. The period of default was XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX.
