Unable to open an account. I went through the process of opening an interest checking account with Ally Bank ( online ). Upon completing the application per their instructions I submitted my application # XXXX as well as mom 's # XXXX and was told I would hear from the bank in the next 3-5 days. I received a call from a banking representative XX/XX/2018 informing me that I had to unfreeze my credit with XXXX XXXX to run a credit check for me to be considered for a checking/savings account as per the " Patriot Act ''. I informed the bank that my credit was frozen for identity theft reasons and it would not be unfrozen.
