Can't close your account. About 10 years ago, I had a XXXX credit card through Capitol One Bank. Due to their poor business practices, I closed the account. Last month, I received a statement on this account ( using my old name and including my ex-husband asa user ). This was a shock, since I had closed the account years ago and had not received anything from Capitol One since then. I was very upset and contacted Capitol One, demanding to know why they reactiva ed this closed account. The insisted that I never closed it, but I am sure that I did due to the circumstances at that time. Furthermore, if the account was active I would have received some correspondence from them during the last decade.
