Problem with fees. I signed up for the XXXX XXXX XXXX Mastercard offered by Barclay Bank on XX/XX/XXXX. This card comes up with an annual fee of {$89.00} for each year of membership, which I paid during the first month when I signed up. When my one year came around, I decided that I no longer want to keep the card open and on XX/XX/XXXX, contacted Barclay requesting to close my account. At this time, they had charged the annual fee of {$89.00} ( for the upcoming year ). I was told by the customer service representative that since I am cancelling and not renewing my membership, the fee would be reversed and the balance XXXX out.
