Problem during payment process. I had a balance with Amex of {$2900.00}. I submitted a payment in the amount of {$500.00} and they ran it as {$5000.00}, which is over {$2000.00} more than I even owe them. When I contacted them through chat, XXXX XXXX was unwilling to provide me the information to ensure that they fix the system error that causes them to take money that is not owed to them. I have never before been allowed by any other credit card company to pay an amount that is MORE than what I owed. They kept my money for 48 hours and were unwilling to even give me back the {$10.00} I spent to transfer money immediately from my XXXX so that I would not be overdrafted from my checking account. This conversation took place between XXXX XXXX EDT on Monday, XX/XX/19.
