Trouble closing card. I purchased a netspend card on XX/XX/XXXX. I was unable to activate it and after speaking with customer service, was told a refund must be issued, as they would not allow me to use the card. I tried to call back a few days later to update information for the refund check ( we had recently moved ), but was, and still am, unable to speak with customer service because netspend blocks speaking to a representative if the card number or social security number are not recognized in their system. I contacted their corporate office, and received a call back with clear instructions on how to request a refund check via email. on XX/XX/XXXX I emailed the required documents with proof of purchase to netspend requesting the refund. I received an automated email, but no response
