Can't close your account. ETRADE BANK I have had a 5 year CD ( earning less than {$2.00} a year ) that I have been trying to close for 15 years. Each time they never respond until the 7 day grace period is over and then insist on such a hefty fee, I have just left it. This year I was determined to close it on it's maturity date of XX/XX/2022. I spoke in XXXX to a helpful customer service person who instructed me on the form I was supposed to complete and upload. I did that on XX/XX/XXXX. The file said 'in progress ' for weeks and finally a few days before maturity, I waited 47 minutes online in the middle of the night to get through to customer service. I talked to a helpful woman named XXXX XXXX who informed me they were waiting for me to upload my ID. No one had told me this, though
