Account status incorrect. On XX/XX/2022, I asked an American Express agent to provide me with a link so that I could upgrade my Amex gold account to an Amex platinum account. I told an online Amex agent with whom I intended to upgrade my existing card that I did not want a new account, as it would hurt my credit score, and explained that my wife and I are financing our first home. I did not want a new account on my credit report as my loan agent advised me not to open any new accounts. Because this was through an online Amex agent, this conversation is in writing, where I expressed many times to American Express that I did not intend to open a new account.
