Checking or savings account — FIRSTBANK (CO)

Cashing a check. on XXXX, XXXX 2023 I received a check from an employer and took it to the first bank atm to cash it. I came home and checked my online account to see if it was deposited to find that my account was locked. so I called the number that the screen told me to find that the check was fraudulent! so I went in on the next business day to find out that my account was closed! I got a lecture that I should not cash checks that just come in the mail, even after I told them that this was a payroll check! and I asked them how does the average person know what a fraudulent check look like? and that question was ignored! needless to say, I walked out upset and really do not know why an account that I had for years was closed for something that I had no clue.
