Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize. On XX/XX/XXXX I went to XXXX XXXX XXXX to purchase a used XXXX XXXX XXXX. The total price was given en route to the dealer despite having multiple calls prior XXXX. The grand total was {$13000.00}. I paid {$8000.00} in cash, {$5000.00} on personal check and the remaining $ XXXX on a credit card. The salesman told me my social was needed for DMV. He then used it to run a soft credit check which in fact was a hard inquiry. A policy the dealer has when using personal checks. The salesman told me he would drive me to the bank to avoid using the personal check and credit card and then within 1-2 minutes came back and said they already ran my credit.
