Debt was paid. I received a moving violation ticket in XXXX of 1997. I went to court and paid the ticket. I don't have specific proof, as this was 27 years ago before everything went online. I was contacted today by a debt collection agency, Coast Professional Inc, telling me I still owed on this ticket. I honestly thought this was a scam. I called the City of XXXX in Colorado and asked them about it. I was told last month the city attorney 's office sent all supposed unpaid debts to this collection agency, even though this far surpasses the 20-year statute of limitations on collecting debt in Colorado ( from my understanding ).
